69 Years

I met my wife in 1953 at Louisiana Tech in Ruston La. She lived with her family in Ruston and we were attending Louisiana Tech. My first cousin Roy Smith and I roomed together at tech. He was also dating a young lady from Ruston. She was friends with Flora. He introduced her to me while we were attending a basketball game at Louisiana Tech. Things developed from that point on. Now many years later, we are about to celebrate 70 years of marriage would actually be about 73 years of knowing each other.

We have three children, and six grandchildren. I retired as state conservationist for the natural resource conservation service. We have lived in Louisiana, Indiana, four years in Washington DC, and I retired here in Louisiana. Flora is from Ruston and I grew up in Winnfield.
