PRESS RELEASE: LFF Releases 2026 Legislative Scorecard

BATON ROUGE, La. (Aug. 5, 2026) — Today, Louisiana Family Forum (LFF) released its 2026 Legislative Scorecard, which serves as a tool for assessing lawmakers on key votes during the 2026 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature.

“We believe that our 2026 Scorecard is an accurate barometer of the overall conservative nature of our Louisiana Legislature,” said Gene Mills, president of LFF. “As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation, it is our privilege to report to you the blessings we enjoy in Louisiana. The legislative and gubernatorial elections nearly three years ago delivered a decisively limited government result which has become a model for other states.”

In the 2026 Legislative Session, there were many notable advances on life, liberty, religious freedom and expression of the biological nature of human sexuality. Notably absent were advancements on gambling and abortion.

Thirteen senators and 27 representatives earned LFF’s Outstanding Family Advocate Award by scoring 100% on LFF’s Scorecard. These legislators will receive LFF’s esteemed Patrick Henry Award at our 2026 Legislative Awards event planned for Thursday, Sept. 17 at Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge. This ceremony is the highlight of our year, and we look forward to giving our network of pastors, churches and families an opportunity to honor public service and to assist Louisiana lawmakers in writing the next chapter of Louisiana history.

Fifty-nine lawmakers will also be honored with the Family Advocate Award for scoring 80 to 99% on the Scorecard.

  • Sen. Heather Cloud
    • SB 110 – AI child image protection
    • SB 310 – Pregnancy resource postings in schools
